Art Submission and Specifications Note: This is a lot of information, you may not need all of it. We will help in setting up your art correctly for print at no additional cost. Feel free to call us with any questions at 1-800-255-4120 or by emailing us at email@example.com..
Art files can be sent via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
. Please include your order number in the subject of your email. We do not currently offer direct art upload via our website. For large files we accept links to Dropbox.
We accept individual logo and art files as well as complete bib designs. For a full design, please see the templates and tips below. We can work with a large variety of formats but please be advised that the quality of art you send will determine the quality of the printed bibs. Preferred logo and art file formats:
||Vectored art file.
||Adobe Illustrator document.
||Adobe Acrobat document.
||Adobe Photoshop document.
|.jpg, .png, .bmp, .tiff
||High resolution (300 dpi).
||Corel Draw files.
||Low resolution (72 dpi).
||Web optimized files.
||Microsoft Publisher files do not convert well into art layout and can only be used for a rough mockup. We may not be able to open or work with this file format.
||Microsoft Powerpoint files do not convert well into art layout and can only be used for a rough mockup. We may not be able to open or work with this file format.
||Microsoft Word files do not convert well into art layout and can only be used for a rough mockup. We may not be able to open or work with this file format.
Files copied from websites have been optimized for download speed and will typically print blurry and/or pixelated. Please avoid copying art files directly from webpages whenever possible. Warning:
Saving low resolution art at a higher resolution will not actually increase the resolution. Warning:
Saving non-vectored files such as .jpgs with a vector file extension does not create a vector file. Warning:
Some logo files such as .jpgs will print with an unintentional white box around them when placed on a color background. We may or may not be able to erase the white box depending on the individual file. To avoid this, send a transparent version such as a .png or vector file. Font Issues:
We may not have every font that you use in a bib or logo design. To avoid issues it is usually best to outline (convert to shape) the text before submitting. You may also provide us with fonts (PC only). If necessary, we may be able to provide a substitute font. Keep in mind that fonts which have been outlined can no longer be edited. Feel free to submit your artwork for review before making unnecessary changes.
Note: You can provide us with an alternative font for bib numbers if you do not want to use our default font. Templates:
You can download layout templates for our standard bib sizes here. A custom size template can be made available upon request. Adobe Illustrator Files (preferred):
Type N, T, O, and M in a zip file.
Type N (no tear tag). 7.5” x 5.875” Type T (with tear tag). 7.5” x 7.5” Type O (Olympic). 8” x 9” Type M (Mountain Bike Handle Bar). 7.5” x 5.875”
Tips for Designers:
Any art layout we receive may need to be formatted to ensure the proper size, bleed, and placement for printing. Following these tips will reduce the amount of editing required, ensuring your original design intentions. COLOR
We use CMYK color coding values.
We can print spot colors (Pantone). Please note that due to the nature of printing on Tyvek®, colors may vary slightly. Exact Pantone color matches not guaranteed. NUMBERS
Numbers can be any size, any color, any font (as long as we have it) and can be placed anywhere on the bib, including vertically. PLACEMENT
Avoid placing logos or text where drill holes will be. CORNERS
Artwork must have square, not round corners. (Bib corners will be rounded during production.) TRIM MARKS
Please ensure that trim marks, drill hole outlines, bib numbers and anything that is not directly part of the artwork itself can be easily removed. We prefer they are on a separate layer or not there at all. BLEED
Avoid placing art or logos too close to the edge. Add bleed: For designs that stretch from bib edge to edge we require a 1/8 inch additional bleed. For example, a bib with the finish size of 7.5” x 5.875” should be designed at 7.625” x 6”. The outer .125” border will be trimmed off all 4 sides during production. FONTS
Remember to outline (convert to shape) or provide any fonts we may not have. LINKED FILES
Linked files must be either embedded in the artwork or sent to us separately so we can correctly open the file (unless no editing whatsoever is required).
